In 2016, the Šilalė District Municipal Public Library established a cosy and friendly interactive educational space equipped with the latest technology. Here, visitors can enjoy a light and sand drawing device, an interactive table, a 3D cinema system, an Xbox console with a wide selection of games, Google Cardboard virtual reality glasses and a foosball table.

These resources are used to organise engaging activities, such as interactive summer and winter games, non-traditional integrated lessons, film screenings and other events.

The interactive educational space aims to improve the quality of leisure time for residents of the Šilalė district, reduce the digital divide and contribute to the informal education of young people.

The space is open every work day, but visitors must book an appointment beforehand by calling cell: (0 449) 74303 or coming to the library in person.

The interactive educational space was set up with partial funding from the ‘Bibliotekos pažangai 2’ (For the advancement of libraries 2) project and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania. The total value of the project is just over €35,000.
